Vintage child mannequins come along so rarely, so I was very pleased to find this lovely young lady who is in good condition given her great age. This mannequin dates to around 1890 and is a French Stockman make. She is probably intended for a child aged around 9 or 10, as the wasp waist is starting to emerge, but is not as pronounced as the adult female forms are. Her fabric covering is, on the whole, intact and as you can see from the pictures the damage is mostly at the back. There is some mottling to the front and again this is evident in the pictures and some discolouration to the fabric generally. The stand is very old, but very sturdy with no wobbles at all. Her height can be adjusted by the original metal turnkey located under the torso.
Measurements: bust - 30 inches, waist - 23 inches, hips - 38 inches, height (from the top of the finial to the floor) - 142 cm
