The fabric of this sweet little French Stockman child mannequin was in a very poor state when it came to me. I have removed the fabric covering and decoupaged it in the pictures from original French newspapers dating from 1895, then sealed the newspaper in a clear varnish to protect it. The torso is an original Stockman, but she lost her original stand a long time ago, so I had a new one hand made in exactly the style of the original. I have shown her with a female waspwaist mannequin of the same age and decoupaged in the same newspapers to give you a sense of scale - I think they make quite a striking pair. The height of the torso is 40cm and the total height of the mannequin from the finial to the floor is 105cm.
